You may think that the words modern and traditional don't belong in the same sentence when it comes to design, but this bedroom proves that those two can not only co-exist, but that they can work together beautifully!
This bright and colorful bedroom comes to you courtesy of Ausland Interiors (photo by Marisa Vitale Photography). I discovered this talented designer on My Domaine, which is one of my favorite sources of inspiration. They've got home tours galore over there, so if you're looking for a new source of inspiration that isn't Pinterest, head on over there sometime. :)
My favorite parts of this space are the royal blue upholstered bed (hello tufting and nailheads!) and that bright Persian rug. Apparently I have a thing for blues, since two of my other Get the Look posts have had a significant piece upholstered in blue! You can check those two out here and here. Blue is practically a neutral in my book, and it tends to pop up in just about all of my e-designs too.
I'm guessing that rug's a vintage find, but if you're not in the mood to chase down a one-of-a-kind rug for your home, I've got a great alternative option for you below. Vintage style rugs are so hot right now, so there are lots of good new ones out there that mimic the old!
A couple of other things I noted about this space that make it awesome are the touch of brass in the wall sconces and the cute fiddle leaf fig in the corner. A couple of months ago, I happened upon a baby fiddle leaf fig at a farmer's market when I was in New York and ended up bringing it home on the bus to Philadelphia (ha!). I'm hoping it'll be big and lovely like this guy one day.

TOTAL COST: APPROX. $2,500
For that price, I'm tempted to redecorate my guest bedroom with some of these pieces! :)
Some of these items are a great deal, so be sure to click around and check out the pieces individually. What's your favorite of the bunch?
Happy weekends, y'all!
Psst! Have you been following along with the other posts in the Get the Look series? These go up every Friday here on the blog. Each week, I take a photo of a beautifully designed space and find the look-a-like pieces you can purchase that will mimic the room's look and feel.
