What Caught My Eye is back and today we’re diving into my favorite furniture and home decor finds from Ballard Designs!
Last week, when I was in Atlanta for the Design Influencer’s Conference, I got a chance to visit the flagship Ballard Designs showroom and I was SO impressed. It’s a gorgeous (and huge!) space filled with their beautiful furniture and home decor. I’ve always been a fan of BD, and it had been awhile since I had seen their pieces in person, so I loved having the chance to wander the store to touch and feel everything. I’ve got some great picks to share with you in today’s roundup!
Also, right now they’re having a 20% off sale (with an extra 5% off for purchases over $500), so now is a great time to buy if you’re in the market!
If you’re not familiar with Ballard Designs, I’d call their general style classic and sophisticated with a coastal twist. They have just about everything you could want to outfit any room in your home - from the living room to the bedroom to the home office. I really like what they have to offer in terms of upholstery like sofas and chairs, and fabric including bedding and throw pillows. They have a big selection of fabrics to choose from for their upholstered pieces and you can go fully custom with many of them, which gives you some really nice options at a reasonable price point.
One final tip before we hop down to my favorite finds is that Ballard also sells their fabric by the yard, which is pretty unique for a furniture/decor retailer! If you see something you love, but want to use the fabric on a piece you already own, you can purchase what you need and have the piece upholstered locally.
Now let’s take a look at what caught my eye! Below, you’ll find an image with links to each piece of furniture or decor. After that, you can read a little bit about why I chose a few of these in particular!

Let’s go through a few of these pieces in detail!
Modern Rope Outdoor “Egg” Chair: Oh man, I’m practically drooling over this one! The modern coastal flair of this fun outdoor chair is right up my alley. It’s part of the larger (and gorgeous) Laguna collection, so if you’re shopping for some unique outdoor furniture right now, be sure to it out.
Blue Moroccan Style Geometric Rug: This rug caught my eye because of the pretty take on a Moroccan style shag rug. I liked the mix of blues and geometric shapes. It’s a great rug that would fit in with so many different decor styles too.
Gray Slipcovered Sofa With Bench Seat: Casual and sophisticated at the same time, this cozy sofa hits all the right notes. I’m big on bench seats right now (the kind that are a single cushion all the way across) - they’re comfortable for everybody and provide one long cushion to lounge on by yourself too.
Sunbrella Herringbone Throw Blanket: Outdoor furniture and decor have come a LONG way in the past few years - many things look like they could happily live indoors or out. This blanket is one of those - made of a material that’s weather resistant, but still soft, it’ll be perfect for those cooler nights on the porch.
Gray Gourd Table Lamp: It’s hard to go wrong with a classic ceramic gourd lamp, and this one comes in several colors and sizes. There’s sure to be one that’ll fit your space perfectly!
Bronze Round Captain’s Mirror: I love a good captain’s mirror, and this one adds a sophisticated twist: the "strap” it hangs from is actually metal! At about 24” wide, it would be perfect above a small sink in a powder room, or hanging over a narrow console table.
Happy shopping, friends!
