These days, if you’ve tried to shop for furniture, you know how tricky it can be to find something that’s the perfect combo of the right style, the right price, and availability in a reasonable amount of time! Thanks to supply chain issues, and the incredible increase in home improvement and decorating projects in the past couple of years, demand has never been higher.

As I’ve worked with e-design clients, I’ll admit that these factors have made my job tricker, but I also love a good challenge! It’s like trying to get through a crazy obstacle course - being able to come out on the other side successfully is a wild journey sometimes!

Because I spend so much time sourcing furniture and decor online, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve for finding those perfect pieces of furniture for your home that are readily available. One is to use retailers that have the option for showing in-stock and/or quick ship options.

Crate & Barrel has done a really nice job of this lately, and so I thought I’d use them as an example today to share some of my favorite pieces you can get in a matter of a few weeks! Maybe you’ll find the perfect piece for your home in this list. 😉

Now there are caveats of course - the options are going to be more limited in terms of fabrics and finishes, and just because it’s available today doesn’t mean it will be in the next couple of months. I have been tracking along with C&B in the past few months though and have been impressed overall with their drive to stay current with what’s in-stock.

Most of the pieces I’ll share today are available in 1-3 stock fabrics and/or finishes, but you can go the custom route as well if you don’t see exactly what you want. Just know that their lead times on upholstery seem to be 22-26 weeks on average! That’s pretty typical of the furniture industry as a whole right now.

To find the “Quick Ship and In-Stock Furniture” section on the website, hover over the “Furniture” menu and select “Quick Ship & In-Stock Furniture.” You can also use this link.

Then you have the option to toggle the filter for “In-Stock & Ready to Deliver” on - that will filter out anything that’s not literally in stock. Quick ship can mean up to about 4 weeks until it’s ready to go out for delivery, so if you need something that’s truly in stock, toggle that option to the ON position.

Then you’ll be able to either filter for specific categories using the menus on the left side of the page, or you can just scroll through the entire catalog in all categories!

I took a spin through the entire set of in-stock furniture at Crate & Barrel, and narrowed down my list to 10 lovely pieces. Scroll on down to see my favorites!

  • Barrett Sofa: One of my favorite “goes with everything” sofas in a classic silhouette. The proportions are spot-on, and the gray fabric it comes in really goes with anything.

  • Calypso Cabinet: This glass front piece would be beautiful in a dining room or living room. If you’ve got some pretty pieces to display, but prefer something with doors, it’s a good one. It also comes in black.

  • Ojai Wood Frame Accent Chair: I am so tempted for these chairs for my own home! I love the shape of the frame and it comes in some great fabric options. The charcoal gray is the other quick ship option.

  • Bremond Nighstand: Wood nightstand with a leather pull? Yes please! This nightstand is a great size, and at 24” high, will work beautifully with most platform beds. (Hint: You always want your nightstand to be pretty close in height to your bed frame + mattress height!)

  • Taj Leather Strap Bench: A versatile bench that could work equally well as an end-of-bed bench, hallway, or entryway. It also comes in a brown leather strap version.

  • Lafayette Upholstered Bed: It’s the curves that got me! I spotted this one awhile back as an option for a client, and while she ultimately chose a different one, I’ve kept this one in mind for the future! It’s clean-lined, but has that classic sleigh bed look too - a nice mix of styles.

  • Granger Grasscloth Bookshelf: At first glance, this looks like a pretty standard bookshelf, until you look closely at the sides! They’re covered in a grasscloth fabric that’s so pretty. It’s the little details that count! This bookshelf also comes in a natural wood finish.

  • Tasse Swivel Chair: Those curved arms and the boucle fabric! 😍 How cute is this swivel chair? I love it as an accent in a corner and it would also be a great nursery chair. It’s larger than it appears in photos - it’s wide and deep, so just be aware of that!

  • Nero Round Accent Table: It’s hard to go wrong with a brass + marble combo in my book. This side table is a great, versatile piece that would tuck in perfectly next to a chair or sofa.

  • Pali Dining Chair: This modern take on a Windsor style spindle chair is really beautifully designed. It’s also available in a slightly darker wood tone - I love it in both finishes!
