Get the Look: Modern Farmhouse Bedroom
Happy Friday, y’all! It’s time for a new installment of Get the Look! I’m pumped about today’s bedroom design because it meshes two of my favorite styles: modern and farmhouse. This style has definitely been crazy popular lately, but I think it’s for good reason - it brings a clean, fresh look to the classic farmhouse style. It has wide appeal and I love how it mixes old and new, and even brings a little bit of an industrial look to the table.
Personally, I think this look will stick around for a long time. Some parts of it may feel a little trendy right now, but rest assured that the general style has serious staying power. How do y’all feel about this look?
It’s also one of my favorite looks to design for my e-design clients, so if you’re interested and working with a designer and this style appeals to you, I’m your gal!
Let’s dive into the inspiration…

Those are some stunning bedrooms aren’t they? They feel so fresh and cozy! I had fun putting my own twist on the modern farmhouse bedroom design below, and you’ll be able to see hints of the inspiration in it. If you’re decorating a bedroom, I hope this gets you going in a good direction!

Modern Farmhouse Bedroom
Ticking Stripe Upholstered Bed* | "Mornings Away" Landscape Art Print | Industrial Modern Dresser | Multicolor Persian Style Rug | White Bedside Table | Tufted Leather Bench | Pleated Grid Shams | 23" Indigo Blue Throw Pillow | Boho Lumbar Pillow | Modern Farmhouse Armchair | Brass Floor Lamp | Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig
The two jumping off points for this space were the neutral striped upholstered bed and that fun vintage-style Persian rug. Mixing stripes with a bold pattern is one of my favorite things to do - it strikes a balance between masculine and feminine so well! The bed makes a nice statement, but it still feels neutral enough to where if you wanted to swap out your bedding in the future, you could easily do that and have a whole new look.
To bring in a few more industrial farmhouse touches, I added a modern tufted leather bench at the end of the bed and a rustic dresser. Functional and stylish? Yes please!
And how about that abstract landscape art above the bed? It's by one of my favorite artists, Emily Jeffords, and is available through Minted. The stock of this limited edition print is running low though, so if you love it (like I do!) I'd suggest grabbing it sooner rather than later.
If you have space for it, it's always nice to have a chair or small seating area in a bedroom. Here I chose a good-looking and affordable mid-century meets coastal lounge chair and brass floor lamp combo to provide some seating and a little bit of task lighting if you wanted to curl up with a book or a cup of coffee.
Finally, let's talk about this faux fiddle leaf fig because it's a good one! I haven't personally seen it myself, but I have several friends on Instagram who highly recommend it and it's insanely priced. Trust me - you'll want to snag one of these if you're in the market. It comes in a tiny plastic pot, so I'd place it in a basket as shown to give it some oomph and balance it out.
So! What do y'all think of this look? Is it something you could see being in a bedroom in your home?
