Shop My Style - The First Three Design Boards!

A few weeks ago, I started a new weekly series called Shop My Style where I share designs I’ve pulled together along with ALL the sources. I’ve been sharing these on Instagram and the LTK app, but I wanted to add them to the blog as well so they’re easy to find and even Pin for later!

Every Friday I plan to share a new design on Instagram and LTK, so be sure you’re following along on at least one of those places if you’d like to catch the next post! Every week, I also put up a poll for what I should design for the following week. This time it’ll be a large family room - keep an eye out for that!

I love sharing these design boards with y’all for a few reasons:

  • It gives you a peek into my design style and how I might craft a room if we were working together

  • It offers you a vision for what a room could look like with the right furniture and decor

  • It allows me to share sources for great pieces that I love using my philosophy of mixing high-quality, investment pieces with affordable, budget-friendly ones

I know not everyone who follows me will hire me for my e-design services, so this is my way of sharing some of my design expertise on a larger scale!

So let’s just in with the first design…below each one you’ll see a link to my LTK post that has ALL the sources.

Modern Coastal Living Room

This living room almost feels like a moodier version of my parlor! There’s a lot of warmth here, accented by cooler blues and greens.

My favorite piece in this whole design has to be that sideboard. It’s an incredible piece and worth the investment. Don’t miss the details on this one like the woven shelf on the bottom and the loop hardware on the doors. This piece can serve either as an accent piece with art above as shown or you could mount a TV on the wall above it.

The navy blue chairs swivel, which is perfect if you have a living room that has two different focal points like a fireplace and TV. The sofa across from it feels modern and tailored, yet also meshes beautifully with more traditional spaces.

I balanced out the investment pieces with some budget-friendly accents like the floor lamp, table lamp, rug, and side table. The coffee table is very affordable too!

Earthy and Serene Primary Bedroom

Another way to describe this bedroom could have been “refined modern farmhouse.” From the leather-wrapped pulls to the windowpane lumbar pillow, you can see the farmhouse touches. The clean-lined pieces add to that modern feeling as well though. Also, this doesn’t have to be a primary bedroom - it would make a great guest room as well.

I’ve loved those nightstands for a long time - the fluted detail on the rounded fronts with the brass ball knobs is just perfection. There’s SO much great hidden storage too if you’re in need of that quality in a nightstand!

I really like the idea of having several light sources in any space and this bedroom is no exception. Overhead is a simple chandelier (make sure your ceiling height allows for that!) and at eye level are the pair of swing arm sconces and a lamp on the dresser. Use just the lamps at night to bring in that serene, cozy feeling.

Finally, I’ll mention a note about the accent pillows on the bed! My vision for this bed is to have two Euros (three for a king) + two 22” square + one 16”x26” lumbar. That combo is just enough to help the bed feel pulled together, but not too many to be annoying to make the bed every day!

Modern Coastal Outdoor Patio

Patio season is upon us! I, for one, can’t wait to spend more time outside, and having furniture out there I enjoy using makes it even better. That’s why I wanted to design an outdoor living and dining space that you could easily adapt for your own home.

This modern coastal lounge and dining space looks primed for hanging out and entertaining! The lounge area has an all-weather wicker conversation set on top of an outdoor rug, along with other weatherproof furniture. The price on that seating set is really good - it also comes as separate pieces if you don’t need the whole thing!

For the dining area, an acacia wood table extends to seat 6-8 and is surrounded by stackable patio chairs. I loved the arms on the head chairs, so I included those as well to change things up at the ends.

I’d recommend this setup for a screen porch or covered patio so you can leave the furniture uncovered throughout the season. I hope this inspires you to get a jump on your outdoor projects!
