Year End Review: Top 10 Posts from the Mix & Match Design Company Blog

Can y'all believe we're almost at the end of 2017? With the year coming to an end, I find myself reflecting on all of the different things that happened, taking stock of what went well and what needs improving, and peeking into what's to come in January (hint - a LOT!). This blog is a part of my business that I really enjoy - I love teaching about interior design and offering practical, easy to implement strategies for decorating your homes. I want this to be a little corner of the internet that inspires, educates, and offers something beautiful that stays with you long after click away.

If you ever have any questions, feedback, or ideas - please send them on! I'm always open to hearing from you (and in fact, I love hearing from you!). 

With another year of writing nearly at its end (this is my sixth year of blogging in some form or fashion - crazy!), I like to take some time to dive into the Mix & Match site analytics from the past 12 months and see if I can pick out some trends, note what resonated with my readers (you!), and figure out what you enjoyed most and why. For the blog, one data point I look at is how many folks viewed different posts, and I thought it would be fun to share that list with you in a "top ten" fashion, with number one being the most popular post of the year. Any guesses on what the winner was?

I'll give you a hint - it was one of the Get the Look posts, which turned out to be a very well-loved series all the way around. Clearly y'all like what you're seeing out in the Pinterest world and want to know how you can translate that look into your homes! I'm thinking there'll probably be a round two of that series next year with a whole new set of beautifully inspiring spaces! 

Another pattern I noted was that posts about bedrooms were very popular - how to decorate around them, how to get the look of a certain one, etc. Maybe that's a sign that we should all be paying more attention to how we decorate our bedrooms! ;)
