Get the Look: Coastal Modern Living Room
via Style At Home
Happy Friday, friends! I'm back with another Get the Look post, and I have to say, I'm really excited about this one! The coastal modern (and a touch rustic) look of this space fits in just about perfectly with my own personal style, so saying I enjoyed finding the look-a-like pieces would be an understatement. :)
The living room I chose to recreate today is from a stunning home in Toronto. Every room blends in beautifully with the next, making the whole house feel cohesive and thoughtfully designed. That's not always easy to pull off - let me tell you! If you like what you see today, head on over to Style At Home to see the whole tour.
Now let me show you how you can get the look of this dining room for your own home! Scroll on down to see the pieces I chose, and then read a little bit about why I decided on these particular ones:
Black Marble & Brass Arc Table Lamp* | Oversized Coastal Art Print | Black Letter Board | Vintage Trunk Side Table | Indigo Mid-Century Modern Sofa | Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Branch | Black Metal Vase | Batik-Inspired Blue Rug | Tassel Throw Pillow | Black & White Diamond Lumbar Pillow | Cross Base Coffee Table | Braided Jute Pouf

So! Let's chat a little bit about some of these pieces!
Remember when I talked about oversized art being a big trend in 2018? Well here's a great example of it in action! This coastal-inspired art print is huge, but it doesn't feel overwhelming because the colors are soft and the scene has a very calming look.
I'm digging the clean lines of that indigo mid-century modern sofa, and the version I found has a great fabric option called Indigo Chenille Tweed that will give you that textured, almost denim-like look that you can see in the photo.
I love the idea of a non-traditional side table, and the upside down crate is definitely non-traditional! The one in this home looks vintage, and I bet you could find plenty of similar ones at flea markets. In case you're not into that "thrill of the hunt" if you will though, I found a vintage-style trunk that will give you a similar feel.
And finally, that blue rug. I'm calling the style "batik-inspired" because of the repeating pattern in a single color. It has a little bit of a bohemian vibe going on, which is slightly unexpected, and I think that's why I like it so much!
All right, so tell me - what's your favorite piece in this space?
Happy shopping and have a great weekend!
