Gift Guide for the Home Decor Lover
It certainly seems like everybody’s starting their holiday shopping much earlier this year! I’m usually a post-Thanksgiving shopper myself, but goodness knows what shipping will look like come December! So I’m looking ahead now and thought I’d round up some great gifts for the home decor lover in your life since that’s my wheelhouse.
I pulled together some ideas that are sure to be a hit and some even allow for the person you’re gifting to to be involved in the final purchase! If it feels tricky to buy something specific, I think you’ll like these ideas since they can be flexible! It allows you to pick something thoughtful, but also gives them an excuse to make a purchase they might not make on their own - those are sometimes the best gifts!
A lot of what I have on my list support small businesses or artisans, which is a win in my book! If there are names here you don’t recognize, click on over and check them out. Even if it doesn’t end up being the right gift for right now, you can file it away for the future. 😉
I’m dividing this guide up into two categories: art, and decor/tabletop. Happy hunting!

ART
Let’s start with art. Talk about something super taste-specific, right? Giving the gift of art is a wonderful thing - it’s a gift that makes a lasting impression and makes you smile every time you see it. If you know the person’s general taste in art, I’d recommend giving them a gift card to an art collective or print shop.
For this category, I’m sharing some sources I love and linking to their gift card pages. In this case, I think a gift card is one of the most thoughtful ideas - let them choose something they truly love!
Collection Prints: a print shop that releases new collections seasonally, and offers digital downloads, unframed prints, or framed prints. The print you see on the top of the graphic above is from this shop.
Juniper Print Shop: a print shop with vintage art and prints from emerging artists, and has the option for digital downloads or unframed prints. The print at the bottom of the graphic is from Juniper.
Minted: known for their holiday cards and wedding invitations, don’t miss out on their art collection - all from independent artists!
Liza Pruitt (for originals!): a lovely local Richmond art collective that has an incredible collection of original art work that ships all over. She has new releases all the time, so there’s always something new!
DECOR/TABLETOP
Here I’m getting a little more specific! The range of home decor goes far and wide, but sometimes it’s nice just to have a few ideas to get your wheels turning on gifting.
House plants from The Sill: House plants are having a moment and for good reason - they bring such life and whimsy to a room! The Sill is one of my favorite online retailers, and their 3 month subscription is a great way to gift someone you love - they can redeem it each month or all at once if they choose!
A pretty photo book: Shutterfly has a pretty fantastic set of photo book designs and templates (check out their designer collection!) you can use to catalog those favorite photos from the year. Create one for the special folks in your life who love thumbing through real physical photos. I listed this one under home decor because a pretty photo album can be a perfect coffee table book! 😉
Made for Living by Amber Lewis: I’m a huge fan of Amber’s work, and her book is just beautiful. It’s perfect on a shelf or as a coffee table book to flip through for tons of inspiration.
Sculptural Vases: H&M has a surprisingly great selection of home decor and their ceramics are top notch. I grouped three together for this guide, but be sure to take a look through all of their options to find the right pieces! From the graphic roundup: one, two, three.
Salt & Pepper Cellar: Also from H&M, this would make a great hostess gift. It look amazing out on display by a range or on a dining table. Fancy up that S&P!
Cozy Blanket: It’s pretty hard to go wrong with a blanket in the winter months, and these super soft, pretty ones from Crate & Barrel would work in just about any home. Whether it’ll be draped over the arm of sofa or stashed in a basket, it’ll be a welcome addition.
Handmade Candlesticks: made by Brooklyn based AHeirloom (and sold on Etsy!), these modern candle holders would be so beautiful grouped together on a mantle. Start with a set of three and add to it down the road if you like!
I hope this list helps your holiday shopping goes smoothly this year, friends!
