The Look for Less is back for its sixth edition!

It’s been a couple of months since my last round of “save vs. splurge” so I figured it was time to bring it back again! This semi-regular series is one of my favorites to research and pull together. Once I have a set of five good lookalikes, I share them here with you!

And I’d love for you to chime in on which ones would you “save” on and which ones would you “splurge” on?

I always like to mention that though one isn’t necessarily better than the other, price does often correlate to quality, so keep that in mind as you’re comparing the high version to the low. Of course, it’s ultimately up to you to decide whether you’d rather invest or save your pennies.

Here’s what I’ve got for today: a reclaimed wood desk, some outdoor rattan chairs, a vintage-style rug, a brass pendant light, and some natural fiber woven headboards. Scroll on down to check them all out and let me know whether you’d go high or low!

Reclaimed Wood Industrial Desk: Low* | High

Given how much folks are working from home these days, having a good desk or home office situation is becoming more and more of a necessity. I’ve got two very similar versions of an industrial style desk for you today. The price difference is pretty significant, but this is a scenario of “you get what you pay for” - if you look at the details of each, the budget-friendly one is made of particle board and veneer, while the more expensive version is solid black walnut. So depending on whether you’re looking to make a long-term office investment or just get in the game, you’ve got good options here.

Modern Rattan Outdoor Lounge Chairs: Low | High

Though these aren’t exact dupes, they’ve got a similar look and feel. They’re a great mix of modern and coastal styles - can’t you just picture lounging in these rattan chairs poolside? (Or maybe just on your front porch!) They come in sets of two, so the price you see reflects that. I have to say, I like the idea of having a back cushion, so I might choose the “low” version over the “high” in this scenario!

Vintage-Style Persian Rug : Low | High

Vintage-style Persian rugs continue to be popular, and there are SO many to choose from out there. A lot of the budget-friendly options can come out looking a little cheesy in real life, but we have another rug from this line in our home and are really pleased with its look and feel. You often get what you pay for though, so keep that in mind! The “high” version is hand-knotted and made of wool, so it’s more of an investment piece, but it’ll look good forever!

Coastal Modern Brass Pendants : Low | High

I’ve loved the Hicks Pendant (the “high” version of this light fixture) for a long time now, so it was fun to discover a look-a-like at a fraction of the price! They’re almost identical, but the Hicks pendant has a patina to it that gives is a higher end look in my opinion. Lighting can be a game-changer in a home, so it can be worth the investment. The “low” pendant is a great alternative though if you need a more budget-friendly option!

Natural Fiber Woven Headboard: Low | High

Natural fibers bring such warmth to a space, and these woven headboards are a great way to add some into a bedroom. Both of these have a similar feel, but are made of slightly different materials. The big difference though is the price tag. The “low” version is 50% less than the “high” version! (Price shown for a queen size bed.) Which one would you choose?
