Shop the Design: Eclectic Modern Dining Room from CB2

Holiday hosting season is right around the corner, so today I’ve got an eclectic modern dining room design to share with you with pieces from CB2!

(P.S. New around here and wondering what this series is all about? With Shop the Design, I challenge myself to source everything for a room from one retailer. Now, while I don’t normally design rooms that are all from one place, this is more about showcasing some of my favorite pieces from a store and seeing how they all come together in one room! )

It’s crazy to me that it’s already November! This fall has flown by and before we know it, the holidays will be upon us. Are you hosting any dinners, parties, or other gatherings this year? If so, I’ll bet that it involves food in some form or fashion, and therefore involves your dining room!

With that in mind, I decided to put together an eclectic modern dining room for this edition of “Shop the Design.” Though you may not need to purchase all new pieces for your space, perhaps it’s time for some new chairs, a rug, or even a table! I hope this design gives you some good inspiration for yours. This design mixes high and low - affordable pieces with higher end ones - to give you lots of options as you shop.

Take a peek at the design below and then I’ll chime in with some tips and comments about it below! You’ll find the links to each of the pieces under the graphic and again at the end of the post in case you want to take a closer look at any of the furniture or decor.

It’s time for another Shop the Design! This time, it’s an eclectic modern dining room from CB2. With the holiday hosting season right around the corner, now is the perfect time to get that space pulled together! Grab the sources for this dining roo…

Dining Table: This is actually the table we have and I’ve loved it ever since we got it four years ago! It’s held up beautifully and withstood several moves. The modern angular legs and thick wood tabletop give it some serious presence, but it’s still simple and pretty minimalist.

Dining Chairs: I mixed high and low here - the cane back chairs are stunning, but are on the pricier side. Mixing them with affordable solid black chairs is a great way to get a high end look while staying on budget. Also, those side chairs are STACKABLE, which is great if you want to keep a couple of extras around to squeeze in when you have extra people at the table!

Rug: I love a busier rug for under a dining table because it hides things well! (Good news, bad news, right?) The pattern on this tribal-inspired rug is just that, and it also adds to the eclectic look of this dining room.

Sideboard/Buffet: Every dining room needs some good storage, and I love that this piece can double as a serving station when needed. The marble top is absolutely beautiful and I love the diagonal wood grain on the doors.

Tabletop and Serving Pieces: This is a great time of year to purchase some new dinnerware, flatware, decor, and serving pieces if you need them! TONS of retailers have sales in this category this time of year, so be sure to snatch some up so you’re ready to dress up your table for that holiday dinner. I pulled a few of my favorites for this design including that matte white dinnerware (gorgeous!), gold silverware (perfect for a little pizzazz), and marble serving tray (don’t forget the cheese knives!).

Is your home holiday hosting-ready? Do you have plans to purchase any new pieces? Let me know in the comments or over on Instagram!
