What You Should Be Buying Right Now At: Target
The Best Of series is back! For those of you who have been following along for awhile, you may remember that I wrote a post for this series each Friday for several months at the beginning of 2017. I took a break to focus on the One Room Challenge makeover for my office, and after that was over, moved into the Get the Look series. With the release of the new fall lines for all the furniture and home decor retailers, I thought it would be fun to restart the Best Of series to share all of my favorite finds!
I'm rebranding the series a little bit, and calling it What You Should Be Buying Right Now At: ___. In the coming weeks/months, I'll be combing through the websites and catalogs of my favorite retailers and chatting about my picks right here! There'll be a roundup of products and direct links to them so you can shop the furniture and decor quickly and easily if something strikes your fancy.
To kick things off, we're starting with one that everyone loves (slash hates, since it's impossible to walk out of empty-handed) - Target!
As I was looking through Target's website, I noticed that most of their pieces fall into three styles: Mid-Century Modern, Farmhouse, and Global-Inspired. Those are all trending in general right now, and Target has done a fantastic job over the past few years of being right in the thick of it when it comes to designing for what's hot.
In case you weren't aware, Target designs several of their own collections like Threshold (my fave), Nate Berkus for Target, and Room Essentials. Each has its own look and feel, and are exclusive to Target. BUT, they also carry LOTS of other brands on their website that you'll see on sites like Wayfair and Overstock. If you want to stick with Target exclusives, you can choose to only look at pieces from their Threshold line, for example. Know that if you are searching for say, an accent chair, and you input that term in the search bar, the results will bring up both Target pieces and brands that are carried more broadly at other retails. I figured I would share that little tip with y'all before diving into my picks!
Much of the furniture and decor I chose for today's must-haves at Target are decidedly in the mid-century and global-inspired camps (hello Persian-style rug!). They've got a lot of great pieces right now, and this barely scratches the surface. It was so hard to narrow my picks down to this little collection! My suggestion to you is to find something you like, head on over to the Target website, and look at the section below the item where Target makes suggestions about similar pieces. That will bring up some other really awesome things you won't want to miss.
OH, and lastly, Target is having a big home sale (up to 25% off) through tonight, so if there's a piece you've been thinking about purchasing, there's a good chance it has a nice discount right now. Happy shopping!
