Get the Look: California Casual Bedroom
Happy Friday, my friends! I hope you've had good weeks. It's been crazy hot here in Philadelphia this week, but I'll take it - I'm totally a summer girl!
But enough about the weather, let's get onto the good stuff - today's Get the Look post!
This week, I've got a cozy bedroom to share with you from Lexi Grace Design. I've dubbed it the "California Casual" bedroom because it just gives off those relaxed, west coast vibes - wouldn't you agree?
Lexi is an Arizona-based designer whose look feels fresh, clean, and unfussy. She and her team do a lot of home staging in addition to client work, and it's fun to look through her images of staged homes - it's a totally different animal than designing for a home that's going to be lived in.
What I love about the bedroom I'm sharing today is how bright and airy it is (is anyone surprised I would feel that way? ;) ), and all the different textures they added. The seating area is full of it - from the soft, plush flokati style rug to the rough hewn coffee table - as is the bedding. She's totally inspiring me to incorporate more texture in my design work.
One of the showstoppers in the room is definitely the light fixture. I have that chandelier in our dining room and can attest to the fact that it's just as gorgeous in person as it is online. It comes in several other colors and a larger size too, if black isn't your thing.
And let's talk about those rattan swivel chairs at the foot of the bed - how fun are they? I love the use of throw pillows as cushions (you definitely need cushions with this style of chair) because if you've ever shopped for these chairs, the default cushions aren't exactly, how do I say it, attractive. :) Here's tip if you purchase these for your own home: swap out the cushions like Lexi did here and you'll be sure to get that California casual look rather than the Florida retiree. No offense to any retired folks in Florida - that's just what I think of when I've see the lumpy pillows these chairs come with! Since they're reasonably priced ($260 each!), it's not outrageous to make that switch.
Ok! So now that you've heard me sing this bedroom's praises, it's time to share the sources so you can get the look of this space in your own home. Scroll down to the links below the following graphic and you'll be able to shop the look-a-like pieces. There are some good deals to be had this week, so be sure to click around and check 'em out.
