Welcome to week two of Get the Look! Did you miss last week's Light and Cozy Neutral Living Room? It was a good one - be sure to click over there next!

To get you up to speed in case you're new around here, in these Friday posts, I'll be showing you how you can recreate the look of a particular room with affordable pieces of furniture and decor. Each week, I'll choose a new beautiful space to share, and this time, I've got a moody modern bedroom from the very talented Elizabeth Lawson! She was kind enough to let me to use an image from her Canton Master Bedroom project for this post and I'm so excited to share my take on it so that you can bring the look to life in your own home.

This bedroom catches your eye immediately thanks to the dark walls. That almost black paint color really sets the mood and provides the perfect backdrop for the other pieces. In my version of the design below, I'm suggesting Benjamin Moore Nightfall as a similar shade - it has a tiny bit of gray-blue in it that helps it come off as a nice, soft black. (As a side note, I'm clearly digging those dark and moody hues these days - I painted our City Studio at the Philly Home Show a dark navy!)

I love how everything else feels so clean and bright against that dark wall color. The simple wingback headboard and low back mid-century style settee feel sophisticated, yet simple at the same time. I love how she chose just a couple of throw pillows to make it feel cozy and add some pattern, but not too many so that it takes away from the clean look.

The icing on the cake is that small vintage rug she layered on at the end of the bed. The muted colors fit right in and it gives a little bit of a lived-in look that every room needs. The look-a-like rug in my version below has a similar effect, but the colors are slightly brighter.

I'm in love with this whole room, aren't you?

Now let me show you how you can get the look of this fabulous bedroom for your own home! Scroll on down to see the pieces I chose:
